U.S. Foreclosures Up 75%

by Bob Schwartz

Home foreclosures have continued to dramatically increase in 2010.

According to a new report from RealtyTrac, foreclosure filings climbed in 75% of the nation’s metro areas during the first half of 2010.  At a time when the Obama administration believes that we are “turning the corner”, things just seem to get even worse.

Your headline is awfully misleading and flat out incorrect. It implies that foreclosures have increased by 75% across the board. We all know that is not true. Foreclosures filings may have increased in 75% of the nations metro areas but that does not mean that foreclosure filings have increased by 75%. I would attempt to be much more clear in the communications your are publishing. As a real estate professional it your duty to present truthful and empirical facts not partisan rhetoric.

I see no problem with my headline. Plus, I say in the body that it is data from the nation’s metro areas.
