Yesterday, the San Diego Association of realtors reported that although the median San Diego home sales price has stabilized above $500,000, single-family home resales for July decrease by 13% compared to sales in June. During the same period, sales of previously owned condominiums and townhomes fell about 2%.

In a report from the San Diego Association of Realtors the median home price was up again May. but not at the pace of a year ago. The year-over-year increase was 7 percent this May, but it was about 20 percent in May 2013.
Also, it was noted that in May, the number of active San Diego homes for sale increased to over 7,000 active home listings in the San Diego MLS system. Read more

The S&P Case-Shiller Report tracks real estate prices in 20 major metropolitan cities. Today, the February 2014 Case-Shiller Report was released, and it showed that as far as month to month average home prices, San Diego recorded the highest gain at up 1%! Following close behind, were Portland, Oregon, Seattle, San Francisco, Los Angeles and Washington, DC. Read more

Dataquick, a real estate reporting company just issued a report that shows that San Diego housing market dipped slightly again in January as home sales hit their lowest levels in the past three years.
San Diego home prices also dipped in January with the median home price, falling $15,000 from December. But, even with that drop the January 2014 median San Diego home price was still up 15.7% from January 2012. Read more

San Diego Home Prices Flat in November
Today the latest S&P/Case – Shiller Home Price Indices were released for November 2013. The index of home prices in 20 top cities fell 0.1% in November. A separate 10-city index also fell by 0.1%, Standard & Poor’s/Dow Jones Indices said in a statement. The 20-city index showed prices 13.8% higher than a year earlier, while the 10-city index rose 13.7%.
The company said the dip is not a reversal of the housing recovery. Prices typically dip in November and this performance was the best for any November since 2005. Read more
San Diego Home Sales and Prices Decline
San Diego Home Prices decline
Today, a report released by the San Diego Association of Realtors, showed a total of 1,609 single-family homes were sold last month, this figure was down 15.6 percent from November 2012, and 11.3 percent below October.
For attached homes sold in November were 761, down 19.4 percent from the same month last year, and 9.6 percent below October’s sales amount. Read more

Home Prices Moving Up
Today, the S&P/Case-Shiller Home Price Indices, the leading measure of U.S. home prices, showed that the U.S. National Home Price Index rose 3.2% in the third quarter of 2013 and 11.2% over the last four quarters. Read more

Just released report shows: Home Prices Rise Further in August 2013 According to the S&P/Case-Shiller Home Price Indices
The 20-city index climbed 1.3 percent in August over July and 12.8 percent over the past 12 months, its biggest annual gain since February 2006. All 20 cities posted gains from August 2012 with 13 of those at double-digit rates. Home prices accelerated in August over July in 14 out of 20 cities monitored in the S&P/Case-Shiller index
Las Vegas led the 19 other metros with a 29.2 percent annual gain in prices. San Francisco, San Diego and Los Angeles also posted annual gains of more than 20 percent. Read more
