San Diego Home Sales and Home Values Improving

San Diego home sales

Both San Diego home sales and home values are improving according to La Jolla- based MDA DataQuick. Home sales in San Diego County rose by 17.8 percent in November, compared to the same month a year ago, while prices rose by 6.6 percent.

A total of 3,148 homes sold in November, up from 2,673 for November 2008, while the median price of a home in San Diego County last month was $325,000, up from $305,000 in the same month a year ago.

  1. I doubt that this Government ‘recovery’, employment, the stock market or the banking system can stand any further large downturn in the housing market.
    As many have argued, the similarities with the 1929 crash are eerie, in spite of radically different Government policies.
    In the previous depression, a similar stock market rally occured, prior to plunging off a cliff.

  2. The numbers are not accurate as to foreclosures and houses that are in trouble. Residential real estate has a “shadow” inventory that is not on the radar.

    Until we can deal with accuracy on the economy, the real effects of underemployment and the realities of the housing market, we cannot create a realistic solution.
