The S&P Case-Shiller Report tracks real estate prices in 20 major metropolitan cities. Today, the February 2014 Case-Shiller Report was released, and it showed that as far as month to month average home prices, San Diego recorded the highest gain at up 1%! The following is a market data summary of detached and attached properties as reported by the San Diego County MLS system. The data includes all zip codes in San Diego County. * All 2014 data in figures 1 through 4 will be projected based on market data taken from January through March as reported by the San Diego County MLS system. All projections discussed in this analysis will be updated throughout the year in subsequent quarterly reports.
Market Overview: The data provided analyzes residential real estate sales beginning in the year 2000, which is used as the base year. The number of sold listings in San Diego County peaked in 2003 at 42,746 units and decreased through 2008 to 23,972 units. *The 2014 projection shows the total number of units sold for the year will be 24,860, which is near the 2008 low (see figure 1).

Real estate video drones now legal!
Our all-knowing, all seeing and over regulating government took a setback this week when a judge dismissed the FAA’s case against the first-ever person charged with flying a model drone commercially. The FAA has stated that flying an aerial drone for commercial purposes was the legal in the USA. They also stated that there was “no gray area” in the law to allow commercial drone use. Read more
