New Home Construction Hits record Low

home constructionToday in a report from the Commerce Department it was shown that construction of new homes and apartments fell 16.8 percent in January from the previous month, to a seasonally adjusted annual rate of 466,000 units, a record low.

Applications for building permits, a barometer of future activity, also sank to a record low pace in January. Permits were down 4.8 percent from the prior month.      San Diego real estate agent

    It seems that SD real estate follows about a 10 year boom to bust cycle; perhaps it takes 10 years for people to forget the last bust.
