Median San Diego Home Price Still Falling!

by Bob Schwartz

San Diego home valuesLast month, San Diego County's median price fell 5.9% to $480,000 as sales dropped 5.7%, DataQuick said. San Diego's home prices have been declining for almost a year. San Diego was the first Southern California region to see a boom in prices seven years ago and was the first to start trailing off.

The real scary part of this is all the buyer incentives being offered by both new construction, and now, most individual home sellers is NOT taken into account in these published housing value numbers. Personally, I beleive the drop in home values in San Diego, since the peak in the Summer of 2005, is well into the double digits in most neighborhoods.{tags]San Diego housing,San Diego real estate,San Diego home price,San Diego home value, housing bubble, real estate bubble[/tags] San Diego for sale by owner

We are still near the start of this drop. 2007 could end up down 15 to 20% more for San Diego homeowners. Lasik San Diego

It seems that SD real estate follows about a 10 year boom to bust cycle; perhaps it takes 10 years for people to forget the last bust.
