2013 San Diego real estate market forecast
The San Diego Real estate forecast for 2013 is probably going to be my toughest. Currently the number one topic is the approaching fiscal cliff set for January 1, 2013. No one knows the final outcome of what taxes are going to be increased what loopholes are going to be closed and what programs may be cut. So, there are many factors that can affect both residential and commercial real estate in California as well as throughout the country.
I guess it would be much easier if I was writing this forecast for real estate in 2013 sometime in mid January next year at least some of the unknown factors now would be out of the way then. The problem is that this is my forecast for real estate in 2013 and it really wouldn’t be fair to write it in January 2013. Read more

Today the Commerce Department building permits increased to annual rate of 899,000 units, the highest since July 2008. Read more
San Diego Fifth Richest City in the U.S.
San Diego California was named fifth richest city in the United States by MSM MarketWatch today. San Diego’s median household income was noted to be $61,000.
In fourth place, MSN named Seattle Washington which also happens to have a median household income of $61,000.
The third-place city was Washington DC with the median household income of $63,000.
In second place was a city of San Francisco California where last year’s median household income was approximately $70,000. Read more

California Home Sales Improving
The number of days that it takes to sell a home has been decreasing as the real estate market is improving. Of the four fastest selling cities in the country, three California cities made the list.
In the country the average days on the market until the home is sold was 95 days. In Oakland, California, the average number of days a house remained on the market in September, 2012 was just 21 days! This was followed by the cities of Stockton and lodi, where the average number of days on the market before a home sold was43 days. The city of San Francisco came in third in the average number of days on the market at 44 days. Read more
