Real Estate has been a great real estate investment for many real estate investors and most real estate investors make a lot of money over the course of their life by investing in great real estate and holding onto that real estate and passing that real estate down from one generation to the next.

Yes, California seems to be leading the way, with it’s program that has been purchasing residential properties throughout the state. It’s really quite sad to know that the state’s own policies of virus lockdowns and eviction moratorium have put many mom-and-pop landlords in untenable situations. Then the State of California who caused and created this situation, pass a law, where they have first right of refusal on any foreclosure properties.
When the rent moratorium first went into effect in California, I said the burden shouldn’t be placed on individual landlords but instead should be a program similar to welfare or perhaps even incorporated into welfare programs where the state actually pays the landlord the full rent, and the tenant is obligated to pay back the State. Obviously if that would have happened, the State would not have been able to pick up all the distressed properties they’ve been buying with the billions of dollars they’ve received from the federal government in the guise of virus relief.
