The latest Dow Jones case Shiller report shows that home prices on average are up for five straight months in a row.

The S&P case Shiller home price index was just released yesterday for March 2016. Here in San Diego home prices increase in March by 1% over February. Also, on a year-to-year basis, San Diego home prices increased 6.2%.
In the Los Angeles area the Case-Shiller report showed that home prices increased on a year over year basis by 6.5%. Further north, in San Francisco, home prices on a year-over-year basis in March increased by 8.5%. Lastly, east of us in Phoenix Arizona the Case-Shiller report showed on a year-over-year basis their home prices increased by 5.6%. Read more

Home Prices Gain
The S&P Case-Shiller index for March was just released today.On a national basis, this index showed a 5.2% gain from home prices in March 2016. This again was actually down slightly from 5.3% in February.
The highest year-over-year home price gains were shown by Portland, Seattle, and Denver. Portland led the way with a 10.3% year-over-year home price gain. This was followed by Seattle which had a 10.8% gain, and third-place was Denver with a 10% gain.
Here in San Diego California the S&P Case-Shiller index showed that for March our home prices increase by 1% from February 2016. On a year-over-year basis, San Diego’s home prices gained 6.2%. Read more

The latest S&P Case-Shiller Case Shiller Home Price Index report showed that for April the year over year home price appreciation in San Diego, California was 4 1/2%.
This increase in home prices was slightly below the average for the 20 city index tracked in this report. The average for the 20 cities tracked for April was 4.9% residential home price appreciation. Read more

With today’s release of the S&P Case-Shiller Home Price Index report, which tracks residential home price appreciation in 20 major cities throughout the United States, San Diego home prices saw a 4.78% year over year appreciation for December 2014.
The S&P Case-Shiller Home Price Index report always has a lag time of two months. Some other notable facts in this report were that the highest year-over-year appreciation for December 2014 was seen in San Francisco, where they had a 9.3% increase. Coming in close second for best appreciation for the December 2012 year-over-year, was Miami at 8.4%. Read more

The real estate reporting company, Dataquick, reported that the median San Diego County home price sold in April rose to $400,000, that was up 21% from April 2012!
So, now, in our housing recovery, San Diego County home prices are at their highest level in five years!

The San Diego Association of Realtors just reported that the median resale home price in San Diego County jumped up 12% over the January 2012 prices. It was also reported that the actual number of sales in January 2013 increased when compared to the same period a year ago. Read more

The San Diego County home price median in July was $342,000. So, even though the San Diego median home price set a four-year high last month, it’s still far off its all-time high of $517,500 set in November 2005. Read more

Case-Shiller 20-city home price index was released today. The report showed that home prices in the index were down 0.7% in May on an annual basis, but up 2.3% when compared with April. All 20 cities in this index showed monthly price increases, but just 12 cities saw prices rise on an annual basis. Read more
