Home Price Index Drops
It was reported today that the Case-Shiller 20-city home price index fell 0.5% in March from February, but prices rose 2.3% from March 2009, which was the second straight year-over-year gain. Home prices have risen about 3% nationally from their April 2009 bottom, but they are still nearly 31% below their July 2006 peak.
Home Resales Hit 5 Month High
The National Association of Realtors, yesterday, said home resales rose 7.6% to an annual rate of 5.77 million . Sales surged 22.8% vs. a year ago. The median existing-home price rose 2.1% vs. March and 4% vs. a year earlier.
San Diego Delinquent Property Tax Notices Sent to More Than 60,000
San Diego County Treasurer-Tax Collector Dan McAllister announced today that notices are being sent to 60,331 San Diego County residents who are delinquent on their property taxes. The San Diego County delinquent taxpayers owe more than $201 million.
The good news is that the number of delinquency notices being issued is 11,147 less than last year.
Delinquent taxpayers have until June 30th to pay their late property tax bills or additional penalties will be incurred.
